GS Cafe and Ethiopian Cuisine in Covina Review
Frequent praise fpr GS Cafe’s flavorful Ethiopian dishes, noting that the food tastes far better than its unassuming appearance suggests, with hearty portions of stews and veggie sides served on spongy injera.

Love this spot. Great spot that flies under the radar. My teenager Loves it too. Fantastic vegetarian food. Try the beef as well. The Honey wine is worth checking out.
We got the beef & veggie platter which is about $23 and feeds 2-3 people. It’s perfect because it comes with 8 different side dishes so you get to try a little bit of everything. It comes with those tortilla looking things called Injera which you tear and use to scoop the food. It is meant to be eaten with your hands. The injera is your utensil. Injera is hard to describe but it is like a spongy sourdough tortilla.
Just went last week for the third time. Consistently amazing food and cheaper than any spots in Little Ethiopia
The best in my opinion. Always grab a couple of boxes after shopping at IKEA. PS – my 17 month old was grown on vegetarian platter. It was my staple all throughout the pregnancy.
Absolutely LOVE this place, I make the hour-long drive as often as I can! Been going for years!!
I love this spot and it’s closer to me than Little Ethiopia (and just as good!) It’s run by a mom-son duo and they are so sweet and nice. You couldn’t even imagine what this tastes like looking at it. Would definitely recommend a try!
Yelp and TripAdvisor reviews echo this, commending the family-owned spot’s authentic flavors, generous platters for sharing, and cozy vibe despite occasional wait times for made-to-order meals.
